About the Author

From the time she was a little girl, Sue Tomko loved animals, "rescuing" every stray pet in the neighborhood.  As an adult, Sue has adopted several rescue dogs over the years.  The character, Furry Oscar, is based on one of her rescued dogs.  Furry Oscar Finds a Home is her first book. She currently resides in Florida with her dog, Winston.

About the Illustrator

Jeff Kriberscheck attended Ringling School of Art and Tampa Technical Institute, where he studied illustration and graphic design. He has been employed as a graphic designer and advertising art director for Gulfshore Life magazine, and later ran his own graphic design studio.  Furry Oscar Finds a Home is the third children’s book illustrated by Jeff.  In 2006, he illustrated his first children’s book, The Great Monkey Adventure, and he both wrote and illustrated A Rainy Day Tale in 2010.  Jeff is a painter at heart, working mostly in watercolor, as well as acrylics and mixed media.  All of the illustrations for Furry Oscar Finds a Home are original watercolor paintings.  For more information about Jeff's artwork, visit his website,

About the Book

When Joey, Jamie and Patty want a dog, they discover what it means to rescue a dog and make him a part of their family.  Follow the kids' adventure as they learn about the responsibility of owning a pet and adopt Furry Oscar!
